General Information

Parent Communication & Group Chats
We would like to remind parents and carers that St Joseph's does not support the use of parent group chats as a forum for raising questions about school matters. While we understand that these groups can be helpful for sharing general information, asking questions or discussing school-related matters can lead to misunderstandings or the sharing of inaccurate information. Therefore, if you have a question or concern, please contact the school directly - we are more than happy to clarify information. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.
Attendance Matters
Education is important and regular attendance at school is essential for your child to achieve their educational best and increase their career and life options. When your child attends school every day, learning becomes easier as they are able to build on what was learned the day before. Just one day missed per fortnight equates to one whole year over a child's school life!
Arriving at school on time is also important. Classes start at 8:45am so students should arrive at least ten minutes prior to this to ensure they have time to put their bags away and greet their friends. Arriving after the bell disrupts the flow of the class and important daily reminders and learning opportunities are missed.
Schools, in partnerships with families, are responsible for promoting the regular attendance of students and for ensuring that non-attendance is addressed effectively. Thank you for prioritising your children’s attendance at school and please do not hesitate to contact us if you require support in this area.
Term 2 Uniform
Students may continue to wear their summer school uniform in Term 2. We will officially change into winter uniform after the long weekend in June. We ask that whichever uniform your child elects to wear, that they wear the full uniform correctly - please do not mix summer and winter uniform items. Thank you for your support with this matter.
Thank you to our wonderful Volunteers
Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who assist on a Friday in our Canteen. We also would like to thank our families who assisted with making cup cakes for our St Patrick's Day fundraiser and also parents who covered our new home readers. We really appreciate your support!
Compass Events
Please ensure you regularly log into your Compass parent portal and approve or decline any events shown for your child/children. Thank you to the families who already attend to this.
Change in Routine
Can you please advise the school office before 2:30pm if there is any change in your child's afternoon routine.
Book Club
Book Club Issue 3 for 2026 is now live, and we are accepting orders! Orders need to be completed and returned by Wednesday, 6th May.
Meeting with Teachers
Mornings and afternoons are very busy times for teachers as they are preparing for the day ahead and planning with their co-teachers, which unfortunately means that they are often unable to make time for a meeting without notice. For that reason, if you need to discuss anything with your child's teacher, please contact the school office to schedule an appointment. This will ensure you have the full attention of the teachers and the time necessary. Alternatively, an email can be sent to sjtadmin@arm.catholic.edu.au and will be forwarded onto the class teacher.

Northern Regional Futsal Titles
Over the holidays, Roman Falkenmire had the opportunity to travel to the Gold Coast to take part in the Northern Regional Futsal Titles. Roman represented the New England Mountaineers and played 5 games across 3 days. There was some extremely tough competition from both Queensland and New South Wales Teams however Roman's under 10's managed some fantastic goals, great teamwork and even better sportsmanship.
Well done Roman!
