Camp was an amazing experience for me and would love if I could do it again. Before camp I felt a bit nervous since I was going to be away from home so long and I thought that I would struggle not seeing my family. The thing I was most excited about for camp was all the activities we were going to do, and the fact I had never done any of them before so it was a new and exciting experience.

My favourite activity at camp was laser tag, I found it really cool that we were able to do it outside and it was really cool the way the tagger talked to you. The activity that challenged me the most was centipede because it was really high and also really slippery, but it was still really fun. Something new we did at camp was possum glider, I had never heard of it before but it was actually really fun.

One skill I learned at camp was how to put on a harness, we used it in so many activities and I found it very easy after a couple of activities. A time I showed bravery or resilience was when I volunteered to go first on the possum glider. A time when I helped someone at camp was when we did the sensory trail and I helped the people behind me in what was ahead of them.

A time we worked as a team was again when we did the sensory trail we had to communicate and listen to each other so we could successfully get across the obstacles. A special memory I shared with my friends is when we did laser tag and we all had work together to not get shot.

The best moment of camp was when I was with all my friends at the night time games and enjoying myself. Something I would do differently if I went to camp again would be not to be so nervous. One thing I will remember from camp in the future is to always be willing to do something different and new to you.

I think school camps are important because it gives a sense of responsibility and a felling of what it is like to be away from home for so long. Camp helped me grow as a person in many ways but the most important thing is that I’m not afraid to try new things anymore.

On the 23rd of March we went to Campaspe Downs. We got on the bus, waving to our parents as we left. After around an hour and a half, we finally made it to the camp site. The bus driver unloaded the bags in front of our cabins, the teachers told us to grab a random bag and put it in a line. Next we finally got to eat! Then the teachers told us to find our bags as they told us who we had in our cabin, and everyone was thrilled!

After we all settled in our cabins we split into groups and started the activities of today. I was put into group 1, so we did the Flying Fox first with group 2. First Cece and Jema (our activity leader) showed us how to put on a harness. Next, Jema told us how to stop after gliding if you’re going either backwards or forwards. Afterwards we got to go on the flying fox, I got secured onto the rope and WHOOSH! (well that's what I imagined in my mind) I was so scared Jema had to push me off. Next we got a popcorn packet and an energy bar for a snack then we went to our next activity, orienteering. We used maps to find stamps to stamp onto a card, the group with the most stamps wins. At the end the group called Da Ones (aka my group, YAY!) won.

Afterwards we lined up in front of the dining room and went in group by group. For dinner we had pasta and for dessert we had a vanilla hot cake with caramel sauce(optional). After a 30min break we had a midnight activity, Capture the Flag. After that chaos, we all went to sleep, well most of us.

The next day we lined up in front of the dining room and for breakfast we got scrambled eggs and hash browns. Today's activity was rockclimbing, then we had aeroball, possum gliding and lastly laser tag outdoors. For lunch we had chicken burgers and for dinner we had tacos, (but the shell wasn’t hard) and for dessert, ice cream! For our night activity we played squash, squash is a mini game. We compete against other groups in mini games like the longest line, using items you have to make the longest line, but make sure they touch! Drawing a picture of one of the workers in a costume and protecting a water balloon. If it doesn’t pop, you can pop it on the worker's head. Lastly the worker picked a person to keep a water balloon safe for the rest of tomorrow, but it didn’t last long.

It was the last day of camp, we had Centipede and Sensory trail. In the sensory trail, you are blindfolded and you are led through an obstacle course following just a rope. When we reached the end we opened our blindfolds. Afterwards we all met in a building and waited for the bus, we had a long sausage roll and some chips and biscuits. Later the bus came and we loaded the bags and off we went. Camp was an experience I will never forget!

Over the last few days our year sixes had a great time at camp, filled with enjoyment, excitement and enthusiasm. With ten fantastic activities and some occasional meals and sleep, everyone appreciated this school trip. The bus ride to camp took a long but memorable hour and a half, where students sat together and talked, barely hiding their excitement.

We all did many fun activities such as: Possum glider, there were many important roles like the rope pullers they were the people who kept the activity running smoothly while keeping everyone safe. Then there were the anchors. They were the ones who were going to go next with a harness so they were clipped to a carabiner at the end of the rope and took up the slack until the rope was as stiff as a rod. The best part of the day was definitely the flying fox, which we tackled in groups of two to four. It was an incredible rush soaring over the small dry lakebed, especially since the instructors kept the main line perfectly taut. Because the cable was drawn so tightly, there wasn't any sag, allowing us to maintain a fast, smooth glide all the way across.We felt the intense tension in the rope as we picked up speed, zipping through the air with nothing but the open basin below us. It was an out of this world moment of shared adrenaline, and we all landed on the other side buzzing from the height and the wind in our faces.

Another fun amazing activity was Outdoor Lazer tag it was like a safe mini battleground when my group did it we acted like we were generals and commissioners we made up fake strategies and made fake delusions it was really fun for boys and girls some acted like snipers hiding under trees and hiding in plain sight ten we had the attackers they were the ones to charged into our make belief warfare. Another one of those fun activities were sensory trails where we relied on our senses excluding sight. It was a fun challenge where we made it through mazes and obstacles while we couldn't see anything. We also did rockclimbing and centipede .

Rockclimbing was a fun and enjoyable experience we had two walls and everything was colour coded and it had different levels such as beginner and intermediate we all did a fun challenge where we had a bean bag on our head and we had to see how high we could go without the beanbag falling the highest someone got was yellow zone.

Centipede was just as fun. It was like a combination of possum glider and rockclimbing. We had the bailees who would pull a rope and keep the person safe at all times. The centipede would move with the climber and was even higher than the rockclimbing . We had 1 evening activity after dinner each day. On the first day we had capture the flag, we were split into 2 teams red and blue after a massive clash the red team eventually won catching the blue team by surprise. On the next day we played splash where we were split into our activity groups and we did small minigames. We had to make the longest line using any material, and then we had to make a drawing of the person in front of them. We had 20 seconds to draw them. Finally we had to protect a water balloon from a drop. If we did, we could drop it on the instructors.

Camp was a fun and enjoyable experience for the staff and students.
