Term 1 Week 8
Congratulations to our February Readers of the Month recipients:
Mellor: Arabella Jones 🎉
Torrens: Ari Hooft 🎉
Fisher: Mitchell Eggers 🎉

These students will be able to choose a new book for the library, with a special dedication included on the inside cover.
Shoutout to our fantastic Year 6 library monitors who dedicate one lunch time per week to helping in the library. They are a very enthusiastic bunch who love shelving returned books and working together to help keep our library a tidy space for everyone to enjoy. A big thank you to these students!

We are excited to be participating in the Premier's Reading Challenge again this year! The PRC encourages students to develop a love of reading by challenging them to read a set number of books throughout the year.
Our library has thousands of PRC books to enjoy! To make choosing easy, simply look for the coloured spine sticker that matches your year level:
Â
Reception - Year 2: đź”´ Red Sticker
Year 3 - Year 5: 🟢 Green Sticker
Year 6: 🔵 Blue or 🟡 Yellow Sticker
Â
To successfully complete the Challenge, students need to read:
âś… 8 PRC books (books from the PRC list)
âś… 4 Free Choice books (any books you enjoy!)
Â
That’s 12 books in total 🎉
Â
Have some books at home and not sure if they count for the PRC? You can easily check by visiting the official PRC website below to search for eligible titles.
Â
Each week, students who hand in their completed and signed PRC forms will go into our Friday Lucky Dip draw. Every Friday, one lucky student will be drawn and will get to choose a prize!
There’s also an exciting class competition happening! The first class to complete the PRC will win a special movie celebration afternoon with popcorn and juice provided.
Â
The PRC ends on Friday 4th September 2026 (Week 7, Term 3).
Â
Let’s get reading and make this our best PRC year yet! 📖✨
Here's  how borrowing works in the library:
Â
Reception - Â Can borrow 4 books
Years 1, 2, 3, 4 - Â Can borrow 8 books
Years 5 and 6 - Can borrow 10 books
Parents/Caregivers - Can borrow 10 books
Â
Please note: The borrowing numbers listed above are a guide. Classroom teachers may adjust how many books students can borrow at a time based on their class routines and individual needs. If you’re ever unsure, please check with your classroom teacher.
Â
Please remember to bring your library bag (Reception and Year 1/2) and return any overdue books before borrowing again. Books may be kept for up to 2 weeks. If you’ve forgotten to return a book, no worries! Just pop it into the returns box when you can.
Students can return books by placing them in their classroom library box or directly into the green returns box in Tirkandi.
Â
Please note that only staff members may use the returns computer. If you come across a book that’s been damaged, please place it gently in the Book Doctor box so it can be repaired.
Computer borrowing is available for Years 3 to 6 each morning from 8:40am to 8:50am. These computers are for students who have damaged their own device or forgotten to bring it.
Â
All borrowed computers must be returned to the library by the end of the day.
Â
If a computer is forgotten three times, borrowing will pause for three days.
If it happens again, the restriction period will be extended.
The library policy regarding overdue, lost, or damaged books is as follows:
If a book is lost or returned damaged, a $15 fee will be charged.
If the book is found later, the full amount will be reimbursed.
Â
Students will not be able to borrow further books until the overdue book is returned or the replacement fee is paid. All collected fees go directly toward replacing the lost or damaged item.
Â
Happy reading! ✨
