End of Term

The end of Term 1 is fast approaching and what a busy one it has been!

We thank our students, staff, parents/carers and Brookside Community for their engagement and enthusiasm towards learning this term. It has been amazing to see our students engage in their learning, as well as participating in a number of experiences such as incursions, excursions, swimming carnivals and interschool sports.

Thursday 2 April marks the end of Term 1 and school will finish at 2:00pm on this day. Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) will be available via Kelly Club for families who are unable to arrange pick up at this time.

We wish all of our families a relaxing break and hope you take this time to connect with family and friends.

NAPLAN

The official NAPLAN testing period has come to an end and we are exceptionally proud of all Year 3, 5, 7 & 9 students who participated.

Our students remained calm and positive throughout the experience and the attendance rate across all year levels was very high.

Thank you to our families for supporting your child/ren throughout this time. Results will be communicated to students and parents/carers once received later in the year.

School Gates Closed at 9.00am

Please be advised that all gates around the school will be closed as of 9am each morning - staff will not hold gates open after this time to allow students/parents/carers to enter.

All students who arrive after 9am must attend the front office to check in and parents/carers must vacate the grounds by 9am. Students in Year 7-9 will receive a late pass which must be presented to their teacher on arrival to class.

Please remember that the Brookside school day begins at 8:50am.

It is expected that all students attend Homegroup from this time, so that they can begin their day in a positive and consistent manner. Lateness to school can cause disruptions to the learning of the child who is late, as well as the learning of the other children in the class.

We thank you for your assistance and support with this matter.

Year 5 & 7 Swimming Program

There will be a number of students across Year 5 & 7 who will be participating in the annual swimming program at State Swim in Caroline Springs. This will take place during the last week of the term. Thank you to Ms Cross and Ms Roach for their organisation of this program.

Brookside Community Trivia Night

The first Brookside Community Trivia Night was held on Thursday 26 March. We had about 35 families book a table for the evening. It was great to see so many families on the evening having fun, enjoying themselves trying to answer all the different trivia questions.
