Celebrating our Parent Community

A huge shout out to our vibrant Friends of Donvale committee and energetic team of parent volunteers! Just take a look at the enormous amount of love and connection they have poured into our college community during Term Two.

3000 gifts sold at our massive Mother’s Day Stall

1080 Donuts served to Secondary students & staff for Donut Day

730 Hot Chocolates served to Primary students

232 balloons and awesome décor for our Year 11 Formal event

216  Prep – Year 2 students shining brightly at the Junior Disco

194 coffees served to parents at the Primary Cross Country

18 hours over 9 Monday mornings spent in prayer for our school community

10kg of tzatziki served at lunch for our Senior students after their GAT

5 x Second-hand Uniform shop openings

3 x evenings meeting as the FOD Committee

2 x Coffee mornings provided for parents at our Primary Worship Assemblies

1 x Chinese Support Group gathering

PLUS

They have also managed to relocate their entire Second-hand Uniform shop into the freshly refurbished facilities inside the FOD Lounge in C Building, and to set it up as an amazingly shopper-friendly space. If you haven’t yet seen the new Second-hand Uniform shop or FOD Lounge – make sure you visit soon! 

On top of all this activity, our busy Class Reps continue to update parents with year level news and reminders, and there were countless gestures of care and support provided to our DCC families.

These dedicated volunteers are already deep into their plans for the second half of this year! Stay tuned for all the fun of a Rush HQ visit for Year 4 families, social event for Years 5 & 6, Wine & Cheese night for our New DCC Parents, Father’s Day Stall, more coffee mornings, a fun day our for Year 3 families, prayer group meetings, hosting new families at orientation events, supporting graduation and valedictory, and to top it all off and celebrate the end of the year together: all the lunch time fun and action at our Thanksgiving Day in November!

We are blessed beyond measure by the community connections created through the work of this passionate team of volunteers. While there is not one of them who seeks recognition or thanks, we do honour them. Thank you, FOD team. Thank you, parent volunteers. Thank you for bringing us together. You make our community sing!

Shine Bright - Junior Disco

Thanks to Friends of Donvale for hosting yet another incredible social event for our community. Our Prep - Year 2 students had an absolute ball at the 'Shine Bright Disco" earlier this month, with DJ, Sam I Am.  216 students (and 204 parents) enjoyed a night of fun here at the college with music, games, dancing, glowsticks and snacks!
