CDS Victoria Excursion at CERES

On Thursday 12th June, seven committed members of the ECO Team were invited to attend the CDS Victoria excursion at CERES. We travelled in two cars for around 50 minutes, enjoying the scenery and different areas we passed along the way.

When we arrived at CERES, we began by learning how to identify which containers are eligible for the 10c deposit scheme. The students then had the opportunity to collaborate with children from other schools who are also participating in this recycling program. It was wonderful to see them confidently sharing their progress and ideas.

The group learned more about the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme and how the government is helping to protect our environment through this initiative. During lunch, the students explored and played on the incredible playground made from recycled materials — they had so much fun!

In the afternoon, our team worked together to brainstorm actions St Mark’s can take to broaden our recycling efforts at school. We’re hopeful that these small steps will lead to a cleaner school environment and help raise funds for future environmental projects.

Arigatou!
