Head of Primary Years' Report

Dear parents, carers and our community of Hazel Glen College,

I hope that everyone enjoyed the long weekend and took time to recharge for the remainder of the term. Our staff participated in professional learning on the Curriculum Day with a focus on the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0. Staff collaborated to examine practice strategies for explicit teaching, sharing practice and taking away new learnings to implement in classrooms. We are proud of our staff's commitment to ongoing professional learning and growth. 

Welcome to Ms Jessica Bisson, who is now teaching 2C and will continue with the class when Ms Kayla Misfud returns from leave next term. Ms Bisson comes to Hazel Glen with a wealth of experience, and we look forward to her contributions to the college. 

During this time, we continue to promote our school to families who are seeking enrolments for both Prep and Year 7 in 2027. We enjoy showing families our beautiful College and sharing what sets Hazel Glen College apart as the school of choice. Our programs are of a College standard with subject offerings, pathways and facilities that are unique and promote student engagement for the entirety of their learning journey with us. 

Our students are kind, engaged and continue to impress us by being value-driven and proud of being students of Hazel Glen College. The grounds and facilities are set amid a stunning natural landscape and offer a calm, welcoming space for learning, connection, and exploration. We value community and we know that our students feel safe and welcome in their classrooms.
