St Joseph the Worker Athletics Carnival
The sun came out just in time for our annual Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 5th November. This year was also the first year that we introduced competitive competition with Age Champions as well as the social competition of competing for fun and accumulating house points.
All students participated in a 60m or 100m sprint, long jump, shot put and a relay in the morning, before Prep to Year 2 continued their day with modified athletics games and tabloids. Year 3-6 students continued their middle session with Discus, 200m, 800m and mini-hurdles.
The afternoon bought the A Team relays, where the fastest of each year level and colour house competed for double points in the 4x 50m or 4x 100m relays. Those not running competed for the team spirit award, cheering their teams home as loud as they could from the stands.
A fun day had by all!

Congratulations also to Cawley Yellows for winning the overall points trophy for the day (1132), and Chapple Blues for the team spirit and sportsmanship award.
