Principal Team Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope all of our families enjoyed a relaxing and refreshing break and that our students have returned excited and ready for another wonderful term of learning.
As we begin the second half of the school year, our focus remains firmly on growth. Growth is about more than academic achievement; it is about ensuring every student leaves each day knowing more, understanding more and feeling increasingly confident as a learner. At Beaumaris Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every student continues to make strong learning progress through high-quality teaching, consistent classroom practices and targeted support. Throughout Term 3, our staff will continue refining their practice, analysing student data and working collaboratively to ensure every child is challenged, supported and empowered to achieve their personal best. Next week we have Parent Teacher Interviews to share and discuss your child’s progress.
Over the holiday break, we were excited to see another stage of our Landscape Masterplan come to life with the installation of the first stage of our school orchard. Throughout the term, students will play an active role in completing the underplanting, helping to create a space that will continue to grow alongside them. Community pavers will also be installed in front of the Pavilion, forming part of a beautiful, raised garden bed, while the surrounding area has been transformed into our new Lunch Lawn. We are looking forward to some warmer weather to help the grass establish so that, in the near future, students will have another inviting space to enjoy lunch, connect with friends and spend time outdoors.
Alongside our learning focus, Term 3 offers many exciting opportunities for students to connect, create and celebrate together as a school community. One of the highlights of the term will be Book Week, where we will celebrate the joy of reading, storytelling and imagination. We look forward to seeing our students embrace this year's theme through classroom activities, author studies and our much-loved Book Week Parade.
Later in the term, our community will come together for Footy Day, always a fantastic opportunity to celebrate teamwork, school spirit and have some fun while supporting a great cause. I am sure a highlight for our students will be the staff vs students’ match. Who will win this year?
Our Year 6 students have also been working incredibly hard in preparation for the Shrek Jr. Musical. This production is the culmination of months of dedication, rehearsals and collaboration, showcasing the remarkable talents and confidence of our senior students. We cannot wait to see them take to the stage and share their hard work with our community.
The Scoot, Skate and stride project for Bayside Council will also be unveiled this term. Our Year 4 students have taken a leading role, working with Bayside Council and the parent feedback from the survey sent out earlier this year, which will lead to specific safe routes of travel for our students to be able to see their distance to school and also meet up with friends on their way to and from school. This will also incorporate some of our students amazing artwork as well.
