Junior School Council: Winter Pyjama Day
On Wednesday 17 June, our Junior School students got cozy while celebrating a fun initiative organised by their JSC representatives: raising funds or donating a blanket to support the homeless.
To finish the cozy day, students enjoyed a screening of, Luca, in their classrooms after lunch.
A Cultural Adventure Through Dance
Last week, the Junior School had a wonderful opportunity to experience one of Indonesia’s beautiful traditional dances from Bandung, West Java, called Tari Merak (Peacock Dance), performed by one of our teacher assistants from Bandung, Eisya. This elegant dance reflects the movements and behaviour of the male peacock as it attracts the female peacock. The colourful costumes are also designed to represent the appearance of the peacock.
Following the performance, each class had the opportunity to learn another traditional Indonesian dance from West Sumatra called the Inang Dance. While dancing, students also enjoyed trying on traditional Indonesian clothing, making the experience even more immersive and engaging.
