From the Chaplaincy

An excerpt from the June 2026 publication of The Christian Science Journal.

Hidden deep in the foliage of my garden is a sparrow’s nest. Perched nearby, the expectant mother watches as I part the curtain of leaves to peek at her clutch of tiny eggs. She lets me know with a hearty chirp that she’s holding guard over her little ones, even before they hatch. It’s a sweet reminder to me of how God is always present, protecting all of us.

The incessant noise of war, political conflict, and economic upheaval may grab our attention more often than the gentle rhythms of nature, but that does not make these discords more real. Whatever seems to be happening on the human scene, the spiritual truth is that divine Love is right there - guarding, guiding, and caring for Her creation as a mother bird cares for her nestlings.
