Welcome Back to Term 3!
A warm welcome back to all our families as we begin an exciting and busy Term 3 at St John’s Mitcham. We hope you enjoyed a restful winter break and are ready for another fantastic term of learning, growth and community connection. This term is packed with wonderful opportunities for our students, including our upcoming St John's Trivia Night, Kaboom Sports Day, Family Bush Dance, Footy Day and the magic of Book Week. It is a joy to see the classrooms and playgrounds buzzing with energy and enthusiasm once again. Let's work together to make this term a rewarding experience for every child, guided by our shared Vision and School Values.

We are seeking your support with this years Annual St John's Parish Community Fete. Every year we have hundreds of volunteers from across the school and Parish to work on stalls, give donations and coordinate stalls.
Over the past 6 years we have had parents volunteer as our school representatives but their children have now moved into secondary school. I am seeking 2 new Representatives from our school parents to join the Fete Committee this year. It can be for just one year.
Your role would be to attend a few meetings in the lead up to the 20 November Fete Day and assist with communications and promotions across the school community.
Other roles and responsibilities need new volunteers and I have listed these on the Fete page.
If you would be interested in taking on any of the roles please let me know as soon as you can.

We are excited to welcome our families back for our Term 3 Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences, and bookings are now officially open! Parents are asked to book a 10-minute session with their child's teacher for Thursday 30 July. Please log into PAM to select your preferred time. Detailed booking instructions are attached below.
Please note: Families who have PSG meetings scheduled do not need to book these regular conference sessions.
If you experience any issues logging into PAM or securing a time slot, please email office@sjmitcham.catholic.edu.au for assistance. We kindly ask that you do not email teachers directly regarding these appointments.

We are all getting set for our Biggest Trivia Night Yet. The Theme is 'We Are 90s', and there will be lots of questions, laughter, games, dancing and more. Grab your friends and arrange a table of 10, or just book tickets and we can add you to a table in your child's Year Level.
To purchase your entry and $1000 raffle prize tickets, please book via the CDFpay app

This term we will celebrate and learn about the Commonwealth Games with a whole school Kaboom Sports Event.
It will be held on Monday, 27 July, from 12pm-2pm. Students may wear their Sports Uniform and Parents are welcome to attend.

On Friday, 7 August, we will be having a Whole School Incursion with the Billy Tea Bush Band. They will be working with all classes to teach them a variety of Bush Dances.
From 6 - 7pm we invite all families to return to school to take part in a Family Bush Dance, where the students will teach families everything that they learnt. It is a great night to socialise with the Community so be sure to add this to your calendar.
Join the Art Show Committee:
We are forming a dedicated team to help plan the layout, curate the spaces, and design the opening night magic. If you want to collaborate and share creative ideas, we would love to have you!
If you can help with volunteering or want to join the committee, please fill out our Google Form Support Sign-Up or reach out directly to Beth at bneason@sjmitcham.catholic.edu.au
Get ready to pack your bags and journey across our stunning continent as you experience 'Colours of Australia'. Held only once every two years, our spectacular Biennial Art Show will take place on 22 October, transforming both upstairs and downstairs spaces across Durkin Hall and the Coghlan Centre into a carefully curated gallery.
