Learning Diversity

Our students all have strengths in particular areas while they can also have additional needs in another. We believe that all students should experience success and our educational programs are adjusted in order to achieve this goal. Student needs can be Academic, Social/Emotional, Physical or Sensory.
Our process of evidence collection for these students with additional needs are in accordance with NCCD (Nationally Consistent Collection of Data) requirements. All students with disabilities are recorded in the NCCD census in August each year. NCCD students are supported within our school through adjustments made by class teachers, modifications to the curriculum and additional support either one on one or in small groups from the Learning Support Officers (LSOs) and class teachers.
Personalized Learning Plans (PLP’s) may be developed and Program Support Group (PSG) meetings are allocated regularly to share student goal progress and make plans moving forward. Incidental parent meetings may be scheduled and email communication with parents occurs as required.
