Year 8 News

The Year 8 team would like to welcome back Year 8s to Term 3.
Now more than halfway through the year, it has been pleasing to see students get back into learning and show our school pillars of Work Ethic, Engagement, Relationships and Excellence.
Around Year 8
With a new semester, students are learning new topics and in new electives. Here are some reflections from students on their favourite subjects this term so far:
My favourite subject is VISCOM, because I get to show off my creativity and educate others on art and history – Andy T 8B
My favourite subject is physical education because I like the teachers – Ivy B, 8B
My favourite subject right now is cooking because I get to cook scrumptious food, we recently made tacos – Taj R, 8B
My favourite subject is R&R. We practice gratitude, empathy and mindfulness and have the chance to reflect on our week and feelings. – Aleria C, 8B
My favourite subject is humanities because I love learning about medieval times. – Amelia R, 8E
My favourite subject this term is cooking because it is fun, but it also helps me cook new things at home. Blake K, 8E
New Locker Bay
The new Year 8 Locker Bay is almost finished! We can expect Year 8s to move into these sometime during the term.
Year 8 Camp
In the last three days of Term 2, Year 8s ventured off to the Phillip Island Adventure Resort. Students participated in activities such as giant swing, double flying fox, team rescue, archery, mini golf and more. It was a great way to finish off the semester, and students really enjoyed their time.
KPAs
As in previous years, we will be continuing the use of Kurnai Positive Acknowledgements (KPA’s). Last term Year 8s received over 3700 KPAs! This term their goal will be 3,500 😊
Art News
The year 8s have started the semester by personalising their portfolios.
