Welcome to Term 3 and Semester 2.

As many of you know, I have recently joined Kurnai College Churchill Campus as the new Campus Principal. I am thoroughly enjoying my time in the role so far and feel very privileged to be part of such a welcoming and supportive school community. I would like to extend a warm welcome back to all students, staff, parents and carers as we begin another exciting semester of learning and growth.

One of my key focuses this semester is ensuring that every classroom provides a calm, orderly and positive learning environment for all students. We know that students learn best when expectations are clear and routines are consistent. Over the coming months, we will continue to strengthen classroom routines and practices that support engagement, respectful relationships and high-quality learning experiences across the campus.

We have already had a fantastic start to the semester with our recent NAIDOC Week celebrations. Our Churchill Campus celebration was a wonderful afternoon filled with great food, music and a strong sense of community. It was fantastic to see students and staff coming together to celebrate and recognise the rich history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The whole-college NAIDOC celebration was equally impressive. It was a large and vibrant event featuring outstanding speakers and talented artists who shared their knowledge, stories and performances with us. The day concluded with a wonderful shared lunch and provided a valuable opportunity for our college community to come together in celebration and reflection.

As I continue settling into the role, I look forward to getting to know more of our students and families over the coming weeks. Building strong partnerships between home and school is very important to me, and I warmly welcome conversations with parents and carers. Please do not hesitate to introduce yourself or contact the campus if there is anything I can assist with.

I look forward to a successful and rewarding Term 3 for all members of our Churchill Campus community.
