Touch Football Gala Day

Today, almost 120 students represented our school at the Touch Football Gala Day held at Waratahs in Orange and organised by Touch Football NSW.

It was a fantastic day, with our 12 teams playing against a number of schools from across Orange. All of our students are to be congratulated on their excellent behaviour, sportsmanship and school spirit. They embraced the spirit of the gala day, encouraged one another and enjoyed the opportunity to play Touch Football and spend time with their friends.

A huge thank you goes to our teachers and staff who helped throughout the day. With 12 teams to organise, it was certainly a busy day — and a rather fresh one at Waratahs!

We would also like to extend a very special thank you to Sue Dean from James Sheahan Catholic High School, who organised for a group of James Sheahan students to assist with refereeing and managing some of our teams. Our students loved having the secondary students involved. They were enthusiastic, encouraging and very knowledgeable about the game of Touch Football, and their support was greatly appreciated.

Thank you also to the parents and families who came along to watch, support and encourage our students throughout the day.

Finally, thank you to Touch Football NSW for organising such an enjoyable and well-run gala day. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to be active, represent our school and enjoy playing sport with their friends.

 Year 4 and 5 Summer Sports Trials at School for Dio selection trials

Please see below a timetable for the summer sport trials at school for the selected students who have returned application forms.  If selected these students will then receive a note for trials in Dubbo  (Basketball/Tennis 12th Nov, Touch 18th Nov, Cricket/Softball 19th Nov).  Polding trials then take place in 2027.  

Please be aware the times and dates  for our school trials are subject to change.

Term 4

Intensive Swimming - A Life Skill

Once again this year we are lucky enough to be able to use Kinross Wolaroi swimming facilities for our Year 1 and 2 intensive swim program.  The dates for this are from the 

7th-11th December (Week 9 Term 4). Parents will be receiving information about this in the next few days.   Please read the notes carefully and return to school by the required dates.  

The swim program is run by Brandon Lawrence from Kinross and caters for all abilities of swimmers.  You will be asked to fill in a form about your child's swimming ability.  It is very important to be accurate with this so grouping of children is correct.

PSSA Softball

This term 15th-17th September we have Annabelle Groves venturing of to Newcastle to play in the PSSA softball tournament.  We wish her the very best.
