DROP OFF/PICK UP ROAD SAFETY

We have noticed that there are several students that need to be more aware on how to keep safe around cars, particularly at drop off/pick up. 

Please speak to you children about the following points:

*Cross at a pedestrian crossing, there is one at Byng St and at Hill St. Some families choose to cross at different points of the road. This is not the safest place to cross at such a busy time. It does not model how your children should navigate busy roads when you're not there with them to assist them crossing. 

*When using the crossing, please ensure children wait behind the line until the traffic controller has told them it is safe to cross. If you are in your vehicle please ensure you wait behind the line until the traffic controller is safely off the road and indicates you are able to continue your journey. 

*When picking up from Byng Street, please ensure you do not linger on the footpath where other cars are reversing. 

Please also ensure that you exit  your vehicle and enter the gate on the left that states 'Entry Only'. Please also ensure you exit via the gate that says 'Exit Only'. This alleviates congestion and assists all families to exit the grounds in the safest way.
