NAILA Language Competition 2025 Award Ceremony

We are delighted to share the exciting news that several students from our school have achieved first place in all primary school categories of the National Australia Indonesia Language Award (NAILA) Speech Competition. This is an outstanding accomplishment and a moment of great pride for our whole school community.

On Saturday 22 November, the students attended the official award ceremony at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, where they were presented with their trophies and certificates. It was a wonderful event, and the students and their families thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The ceremony was both meaningful and memorable, marking a special milestone in their learning journey.

We are also thrilled to announce that the People’s Choice Award winners were revealed during the ceremony — and our students’ video submission won first place with an impressive 450 votes! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who voted and supported our students’ entry. Your encouragement played a big part in helping them achieve this fantastic result.

This Thursday, we were very honoured to welcome a representative from NAILA to our school. She visited in person to present the trophy and certificates to our People’s Choice Award winners. We are extremely grateful for the visit and the recognition given to our students’ hard work and creativity.

Congratulations to the following students for their outstanding achievements:

  • Early Primary category – Mia F (3/4M)
  • Upper Primary category – Ira V (6B)
  • People’s Choice Award category – Charles L (3/4 D) and Kavir G (3/4 M)

We look forward to celebrating their success at school and continuing to support their learning journey.

The Orangutan Project donation

Our school made a $400 donation to the Orangutan Foundation International Australia as part of our Indonesian Day/Hari Indonesia celebrations earlier this year in support of their important conservation efforts. We were pleased to receive a certificate recently acknowledging the donation:
