Acting Primary Sub School Leader

Welcome back to all of our primary students and their families for Term 4.

This is an 11-week term so we need to pace ourselves, remain in our solid home and school routines until the year is out.

In Primary Sub School, we have begun the term positively and will have some great activities happening.

JSA Colour Run

Last Thursday, we had a very successful JSA Colour Run. It was great to see so many students in their white t-shirts ready to have fun. The students enjoyed being supported through the obstacle course and exploring the exchange of multi-coloured powder as they passed through the course. Lots of fun had by all.

Canine Comprehension

Canine Comprehension is an animal assisted therapy program that has been in place at JSA since 2023. This year, and with additional state government funding, we have been able to establish a Tier 2 small cohort program for our primary students. 

Overseen by Jennifer in our Wellbeing Team, this program involves delivering tailored sessions to select students in our sub school to embed skills in self advocacy, socialisation and problem solving. This term has started well, as you can see in the footage below.

ROOM 6

 A warm welcome to Term 4 from Room 6! Our students are settling into their routines.  It’s been an amazing start of term with a fun and engaging activity the ‘Colour Run.’  The students absolutely loved celebrating the colour run day.   In the area of learning, students are focussing on communicating using the device for a variety of purposes in the classroom.  They have been modelled feeling words on the device to express emotions, engage in social routines, requesting ‘I want’ asking for ‘help’ and answer questions ‘yes’ and ‘no.’  Well done Room 6, you are Super Stars.
