Being Well at Magill

Term 1 and 2 have been action packed terms for the Student Action Teams. They’ve been working almost a full hour each week, creating fun signs which are now up around the school, designing our new Tolmer Garden, refurbishing the Gratitude Garden, and so much more.
During Term 1, students set to work designing various posters about one of the following topics: Nude Food, anti-littering and watching where you step. Otherwise, they had the option to go help Miss Schona to improve their gardening skills and help her care for the Gratitude Garden while Miss Byford was away. Almost two months later, we put up our posters and finished our garden adjustments, and looked back on a term of success.
Last year, the SAT made plans for a Tolmer Garden, which would be placed in the boring dirt patch outside Miss Milda’s room. In Week 5, students pulled on their gloves and collected their spades and set to work. After 50 minutes of digging holes and gently placing plants into them, dirty nails and watering, we had a beautiful Tolmer Garden. Finally, we brought through the fabled Friendship Bench to pull the mood together.
