Spelling Bee

Well done to all students who took part in our OLF Spelling Bee. The participants showed great enthusiasm and courage spelling in front of their peers. We are so proud of each and every one of our students who participated in this exciting event. Congratulations to our Grade winners for their exceptional spelling skills! The Stage Finals will be held in Week 9 and is a school only event. 

National Simultaneous Storytime

On 27th May, our school participated in National Simultaneous Storytime. NSS is an annual event held across Australia that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy. On the same day and at the same time children in schools around the country read the same Australian picture book together. This year’s book was ‘Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller’ by A. Jackson, A. Lloyd & J.A. Minton. 

New Reading Initiative - Our Lady of Fatima and De La Salle 

A new reading initiative began this term between our Year 5 and Year 6 students and Year 11 students from De La Salle. This wonderful partnership aims to build our students comprehension and fluency skills through targeted reading sessions. The students are thoroughly engaged within the reading sessions and enjoy sharing their knowledge with their peers. A huge thank you to Mrs Pisani for initiating this partnership and to our wonderful Year 5 and Year 6 teachers for their ongoing support!
