UPDATE ON OUR STUDENT LED LEARNING CONFERENCES
There has been a wonderful buzz at St Nicholas this week as Student Led Learning Conferences get underway. A steady stream of parents have been arriving at their appointment time to sit alongside their child and class teacher to discuss learning in a safe, supported setting. It’s impressive to see our students showcase their work and identify their strengths, as well as being able to verbalise their next steps in learning. These conversations are also powerful in strengthening relationships between home and school, and this process certainly supports our Living Well, Learning Well framework. There is much to be gained from our students taking accountability for their learning whilst knowing they are valued, respected and cared for. We thank our students and teachers for working so hard to prepare for these conferences, and also our parents for continuing to support the ongoing learning here at St Nicholas.
ICAS ASSESMENT
MOBILE PHONES
This term, there have not been many students handing in their phones to the front office compared to last term. Please remind your child that if they are bringing a mobile phone to school, they must hand it into the office at the beginning of the day. They are stored securely and students can collect them when dismissed from class. Thank you for your support with this. Please note that if your child is wearing a smart watch to school, the 'school mode' must be activated during school hours.
VERITAS
Our Veritas Awards stem from our school motto - ‘Veritas’ - meaning truth. The Veritas Award is awarded to students who have been consistently displaying citizenship, leadership and/or Christian Living. Students receiving a Veritas Award are those students who have displayed our ‘Rules for Living’ in their everyday interactions. We announce our Veritas award recipients at Friday morning assemblies every fortnight. Congratulations to: Hugo Duncan, Oliver Ekert, Emma McKenzie, Wyn Townsend, Henry Woolaston, Mahlia Pendergast, Juno Betts, Yug Bhattarai, Oscar Lintott, Jackson Bridges, Abhinav Prasad, Sritha Goli, Jonty Townsend, Alera Dallas, Lara Ebzery, Lara Macdonald and Nate Drury.

SUPERVISION OF STUDENTS
All parents need to be aware, our supervision of students
does not begin until 8.15am each day.
St Nicholas School gates will not be open until the arrival of the first school bus at approximately 8.10am. It is not appropriate for children to be at school before this time with no supervision.
If your child/ren require care before 8.15am you may like to consider before school care here at school with Esteem.
