Term 2 Week 8
Hi Everyone! Welcome to Week 8!
Katie Daley - Lead Teacher Accreditation
We are absolutely delighted to formally recognise Katie Daley on her successful attainment of Lead Teacher accreditation. Katie's application was outstanding, a testament to her dedication and expertise, further reinforced by an exceptional site visit.
The feedback from Katie's site visit was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting her exemplary teaching practice and her consistent modelling of high expectations for both teachers and students as learners. The assessor was particularly impressed by her modelled lessons, which showcased research-based explicit teaching strategies and their demonstrably positive impact on student learning.
Furthermore, the report underscored Katie's significant positive impact on leading and building the capacity of her colleagues across various contexts within St Nicholas.
Congratulations, Katie! This achievement is richly deserved and a wonderful recognition of your exceptional leadership and commitment to excellence at St Nicholas.
Welcome to Mrs Nebauer
I would like to extend a warm welcome to Mrs Heidi Nebauer, who has joined our teaching staff as 1H class teacher, replacing Mrs Hall who has taken on the Inclusion Support Teacher role for the next 12 months.
Mrs Nebauer and Mrs Hall will be working together on class over the last 3 weeks of Term 2 to ensure a smooth transition into Term 3. It has been wonderful for the students to get to know Mrs Nebauer over the last few days and she has also begun to meet some parents at out our student lead learning conferences.
I know you will join me in welcoming Mrs Nebauer to St Nicholas.
Welcome to Miss Oliva Jones
This week we would also like to officially welcome Miss Oliva Jones to our teaching staff. Whilst Olivia has been working with us as a casual teacher since the beginning of the year, commencing in Term 3, she will be replacing Grace Maher on 4M. As previously announced, Grace has accepted a class teacher position at Tilal International School in Sharjah, UAE. Whilst we are sad to be losing Grace, we also excited that Olivia will be joining our team in a fulltime role.
Congratulations to Sophie and Jake Tobler
It is my pleasure to to inform our school community that Sophie Tobler and her husband Jake have welcomed their daughter Rosie Mae Tobler into the world on 30th May. Rosie, Sophie and Jake are all doing well and enjoying their special time as a new family.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at our Athletics Carnival tomorrow.
have a wonderful week,
