Traffic Safety

As a community, we seek your support to ensure the safety of school children is a priority.  This is especially important in the peak morning and afternoon periods.

Please be aware that Police will be increasing their presence around the College.  We seek your support to ensure you are obeying road rules, this includes:-

  • Not exceeding the maximum 40kmph speed limit during designated school times
  • Not stopping in the bus bay on Warrandyte Rd to let children out of your vehicle
  • Not performing illegal U-turns
  • Stopping at school crossings (which are controlled by Council School Crossing Supervisor staff)

Thank you for your support.

New Cross-Peninsula Bus route planning.

New bus route connecting Hastings and Mornington

The Morning Peninsula Shire is introducing a new bus route between Hastings and Mornington via Tyabb, connecting Mornington town centre and Hastings for the first time.

The proposed route will improve residents’ access to jobs, shopping, healthcare, and education in Mornington, Moorooduc, Tyabb, and Hastings.

The route aims to improve connections for Hastings and Tyabb residents to important Mornington destinations such as the town centre, beach, Civic Reserve, industrial areas and the Mornington Racecourse.

It will also connect passengers with various routes in Mornington that go to Frankston and travel along the Mornington Peninsula.

Changes to routes 784 and 785 in Mornington

Changes are also proposed for routes 784 and 785 for a more direct and faster link to Frankston and Mornington town centre.

These changes will shorten passengers’ journeys and better respond to the travel demand for Frankston as the main destination for these routes.

Under the proposal, Route 784 will travel a more direct route path through residential areas of Mornington to the town centre.

Route 784 will provide public transport access to retirement villages, St Macartan's Primary School and Mornington Racecourse in the northeast part of Mornington for the first time.

Under the proposal, Route 785 will have a more direct route path to Mornington town centre and Frankston. This means passengers will experience faster travel times to and from Frankston station.

Routes 781, 784 and 785 will continue to enjoy a 20 minute combined frequency to and from Frankston and Mornington.
