YEAR 10-12 NEWS

Year 10

Our Year 10 cohort has had a big couple of weeks planning their pathways for 2026.

Starting with a VCE-VM presentation by the Careers and Pathways team last Tuesday, students were introduced to their options after year 10. They then attended the Careers and Pathways evening on Wednesday to familiarise themselves with the VCE subjects they could choose from, or work-related training options they could engage in through VM. This culminated in our course counselling day last Thursday where students with their families were able to book a time to discuss their plans for next year and WHC staff assisted with their subject selections and VET course enrolments.

A number of these students turned up bright and early this Thursday to get started on their VET enrolments at the Gordon, with students selecting from a broad range of certificates including Beauty, Building and Construction, Allied Health, and Graphic Design, among others.

The next two terms will continue to help Year 10 students develop the necessary skills for a successful completion of their VCE or VM pathways of their choice in the years to come.

Year 12 Celebration

Last Friday night, the year 12 cohort attended their mid-year celebration at the City of Geelong Bowls club marquee.

A fun night of beautiful dresses, dapper suits and the excited chat above the dance music made this a memorable night (plus a few boys in watching the footy).

Thank you to Amanda, Kendall and Joey for helping organise the evening and to the staff who attended. It was great to see nearly all year 12 students attend and having the opportunity to mix and relax prior to a busy couple of months.
