JMSS Music Report: End of Year Update
Congratulations to all JMSS performers for a truly outstanding Presentation Night. This year featured our largest Mass Item ever, performed by a combined Strings, Winds, and Percussion Orchestra with a Mass Choir - over 200 performers on stage. We also extend our congratulations to the Concert Band and the JMSS Showband, featuring Lottie O’Hare, for their stellar performances.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the entire music team whose dedication and expertise made the night shine:
Ms Yuhka Nagai, Dr Brigid Burke, Ms Sandra Chen, Ms Loz Irwin-Ray, Mr Daniel Beng, Mr Damien Ellis, and Mr Harry Coulson.
We are deeply saddened to announce that our beloved Vocal Teacher, Choir Director, Co-Curricular Music Composition Teacher, and all-round brilliant musician Ms Loz Irwin-Ray will be leaving JMSS to take up an exciting new position in tertiary music education. Loz has been a cornerstone of our program; her leadership, passion, and extraordinary ability to connect with students have played a major role in shaping the music culture we enjoy today. Loz, we will miss you more than words can express, but we are incredibly proud of you. Congratulations on this dream opportunity, and we hope to welcome you back for future events.

Finally, to all supporters of the JMSS Music Program - our staff, principals, parents, audiences, and especially our fantastic music students - thank you for an exceptional year. Keep an eye out for our 2026 Performance Calendar, with many exciting events already in development.
To our graduating Year 12 musicians: go well, stay curious, and we hope your time with the JMSS Music Team has been meaningful and memorable.
Happy holidays, everyone!
