FN Maitland (NSW) promoted a Fill The Gap campaign in the lead up to Christmas, striving to collect $1,500 in gift cards for Carrie’s Place – a support agency for families escaping domestic violence. Having exceeded its goal, FN Maitland then contributed an additional $1,500 in gift cards, dedicated specifically to supporting teenagers at Carrie’s Place.

‘These gift cards will help provide choice, dignity, and practical support to young people who need it most. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped us fill the gap. Together, we’re making a real difference in our local community,’ said Alexandra Haggarty.

Motoring enthusiasts will recall last year's story of former member John Grieg First National’s (Sylvania, NSW) Targa Tasmania Subaru SVX being recovered in the Northern Territory and then restored by Garth McDonald.

First National supported Garth’s efforts to restore the very rare car to its racing glory by supplying early 1990s First National logos. Before Christmas, the car was returned to Tynan Motors – where the car was originally purchased – for the unveiling of its restored glory.

John Grieg and his son David were invited to the event, and John had the opportunity to sit in the car that he had not seen for 37 years.

The car will return to the Targa Tasmania event next year, sporting First National’s historic 1990s branding.
