Celebration of the Arts: Tell Me a Story - Thursday 22 October, from 5pm at SKiPPS
Our Celebration of the Arts is fast approaching, and we hope every family has the date firmly booked in their diary!
COTA brings our school community together for an evening celebrating our students’ creativity across the visual and performing arts. This year’s theme, “Tell Me a Story”, will come to life through artwork, music and dance.
Every child will have artwork on display in our amazing art show and will take part in musical and dance performances during the evening. It is a wonderful opportunity to see what our students have been creating and to celebrate the work they have put into preparing for the night.
COTA is a little different from a traditional school production. Alongside the performances, families can explore the art show, enjoy something to eat from the food trucks and spend time catching up with friends and other families. We look forward to a relaxed, lively evening with plenty to see and enjoy.
To help bring our storytelling theme to life, each year level has been given a costume theme. The letters outlining the outfit details for each year level are linked below. Please check your child’s letter as you prepare for the evening.
Thank you for supporting your children in finding the right outfit and helping us create the look and atmosphere of the night.
We look forward to seeing you at school on Thursday 22 October from 5pm for a special evening celebrating the creativity of all our SKiPPS students.
Walk & Wheel Month at SKiPPS
October is Walk & Wheel Month at SKiPPS, a great opportunity for our school community to celebrate active travel and find more ways to walk, ride or wheel to school.
Travelling actively to school is a wonderful way for students to start the day feeling energised, alert and ready to learn. It also provides an opportunity to get some daily exercise, enjoy time outdoors, develop road-safety skills and connect with friends and the local community. Choosing active travel also helps reduce traffic around the school and is better for our environment.
To celebrate, we will be holding our Ride to School Day on Friday 30 October! Students are encouraged to ride their bikes or scooters to school so they can participate in the bike circuit. Classes with the most active travellers over the month of October will get to enjoy making their own smoothies on our smoothie bike!
We look forward to seeing lots of bikes, scooters and happy walkers and wheelers as we celebrate the benefits of getting active on the journey to school during October.

Classrooms are in need of tissues boxes all year round. When you are able, please send a box of tissues with your child to their classroom - it would be greatly appreciated.
Help needed with the chickens
Our five beautiful chickens who live a life of luxury in our amazing chook house (located in the quiet area behind the Kitchen Dining Room) require care throughout term 4. We are looking for some parent volunteers to help spread the workload of looking after them each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
You will be required to check in on the chickens, collect the eggs, top up food and water, remove manure and replace hay. This should take 15 minutes maximum. However, you are welcome to hang out and relax with the chickens if you would like. They do enjoy spending time out of the coop so if you feel comfortable, let them them roam and lock them back up before you leave.
If you think you can help out, please select the available slots and click on the button to sign up for one or more days during term 4. You will be required to sign in at the office and show your working with childrens check if you sign up for Tuesdays and Thursdays and visit during school hours, otherwise you can complete the tasks straight after school.
Allison will run a very short training session before and after school on Thursday 8th October (8.45am and 3.45pm) to show you where the equipment is kept and how to access the coop.
Walkathon - donations still open!
Thank you to all our families for your generous donations to our 2026 Walkathon. With your support, we reached our $15,000 fundraising target, helping fund basketball court bench seating and improvements to our school buildings and grounds.
Donations are still open, so there is still time to contribute if you haven’t yet had the chance. Every donation is appreciated.
Later this term, we will award prizes to the class that completed the most laps and the class that raised the most money. We look forward to celebrating their efforts!
Thank you again for supporting our students and our school.
