Dear Parents and Carers

As we come to the end of Term 3, I want to take a moment to reflect on and celebrate achievements across our school community.

It has been wonderful to see our students continue to grow in their learning, character and faith. Throughout the term, we have celebrated outstanding student achievement across so many areas of school life. Whether in the classroom, on the sporting field, in STEM competitions, through the arts, in leadership and service, or simply through acts of kindness and encouragement toward others, our students have given us much to be proud of.

A particularly exciting achievement this term was Charlotte Edwards becoming Tasmania’s first-ever national champion in the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee, taking out the 2026 title for Years 7–8. Charlotte described herself as “speechless” on learning she had won and is now looking forward to meeting Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and visiting Parliament House. Congratulations, Charlotte, on this exceptional achievement. We are incredibly proud to celebrate your success and the wonderful way you have pursued excellence and developed your God-given gifts.

While awards, results and individual accomplishments are certainly worth celebrating, some of the most significant growth is not always accompanied by a certificate or an award. It can be seen when a student perseveres with something difficult, has the courage to try something new, includes someone who is feeling left out, serves another person without seeking recognition, or uses the gifts God has given them to make a positive difference.

These moments reflect the kind of young people we seek to nurture: students who pursue excellence while growing in wisdom, faith, compassion and character.

In Term 4, I am stepping into a new role in the school and will be working across the Burnie and Ulverstone campuses as the Director of Teaching, Learning and Curriculum. Teaching, Learning and Curriculum are areas that I am particularly passionate about and I am very excited to be able to work with our staff, students and parents in this role. I am delighted to welcome Mr Patrick Fabian as our new Ulverstone Campus Principal and warmly congratulate him on his appointment. I wish him every success as he takes on this important role and leads our school into its next chapter.

I also want to express my sincere thanks to you, our parents and carers. Christian education is at its strongest when school and home work together. Thank you for the many ways you support your children, encourage our staff, participate in school life and partner with us in the important responsibility of educating and nurturing each young person. We value the trust you place in us and are deeply grateful for your partnership.

I would also like to acknowledge our dedicated staff. Their commitment, care and willingness to go above and beyond for our students are evident every day, and I am thankful for the expertise, energy and heart they bring to our school.

As we head into the Term 3 holiday break, I hope every family has an opportunity to slow down, rest and enjoy time together. May the holidays provide space for our students to recharge, enjoy the beauty of God’s creation and return refreshed for the final term of the year.

Thank you for helping make Term 3 such a positive and rewarding one. May God bless and keep each of our students, staff and families over the break. I look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4.
