District Athletics
On Thursday 28th August 49 students represented Whittlesea Primary School at the District Athletics at Meadow Glen International Athletics Track. All students were fantastic in their events and displayed exceptional sportsmanship throughout the day. We are all super proud of the efforts that you have all put in with your training leading up to the day. All your hard work showed on the day with students not only improving from their results last year but with a number of students coming away with 1st/2nd and 3rd placings. Congratulations to all students who participated on the day.
A special Congratulations to Eva Reilly, Charlotte Susanof, Hudson Mathews, Jai Forster, Hunter Saw, Koby Charles, Piper Briggs, Ivy Millar, Harvey Cummins, Jett Webb, Ava Argote and Norah Burke for making through to Division Athletics which is on in week 9 this term.
Sports Report
This Friday, our Gold teams travelled to Mernda P.S. All teams had a great fought battle against some tough competition. The Gold girls’ volleyball team had their first loss going down 33-49. Our Gold boys’ volleyball team were short this week and had some girls fill in for their team. Although they all tried hard and displayed fantastic sportsmanship we just couldn’t get over the line. Thank you to Maya and Lottie for stepping into the boys’ team this week. Our boys’ and girls’ softball teams both suffered another loss, however, should be very proud of their improvement this week. The gold tennis teams both lost, however are getting closer to a win each week.
Meanwhile, at home, the Blue teams went up against Mernda Hills. The girls’ volleyball had another fantastic win. The boys also had a great win with a massive comeback. Our girls’ and boys’ tennis teams both had a loss but are winning more games each week. Our boys’ softball team had a loss but showed great teamwork.
Thank you to Hudson M, Aston F, Levi N and Taj M from 3/4A for filling in for our blue tennis and softball teams.
