Boys and Girls Futsal and Football/Soccer trials for 2027
Attention current Year 7–11 students!
As we continue to build our FUTSAL and Football opportunities for the students of The Gap SHS, we will be holding trials shortly so that we can be prepared for our Term 1, 2027 commitments. We are holding trials for all of our current year 7-11 students in week 4 & 5 this term.
Trial details;
Year 7-11 Girls – 3-4pm on Monday 26 Oct & Monday 02 November
Year 7-11 Boys – 2.45-3.45pm on Thursday 29 Oct & Thursday 05 Nov

Futsal Champions
Congratulations to our OPEN GIRLS Futsal Team!
The girls recently competed at the 2026 FQ Schools State Championships and finished on top in this highly competitive tournament.
They displayed outstanding talent, determination and sportsmanship on and off the court and we commend them for their efforts.
They have now secured qualification for the National Championships this November.
Good luck girls!
Table Tennis Shout Out
Special shout out to Year 7 student Tenyu X who achieved a silver medal in the U13 team event at Table Tennis Australia National Junior Championships held on the last week of the school holidays (27th Sep- 3rd Oct).
What an amazing achievement, congratulations Tenyu!!
Gala Day Term 4
A Reminder that the Year 9 Gala Day for Term 4 is being held on Tuesday 3rd of November (Week 5) at the South Pine Sporting Complex!
Sports on offer include:
- Beach Volleyball
- Touch Football
- Basketball
- 7-aside Football/Soccer
- Netball
A nomination form has been created and emailed to all Yr 9 students on Thursday Week 1 – T4 (08/10/2026) for selection of sport. These forms closed yesterday. Q-Parent permission will be sent out to all families of year 9 students who have nominated.
If you have any questions, please come and have a chat with the HPE staff in the sports hall. Year 9 students who did not sign up, it is a regular school day with your regular subject teachers.
State Track and Field

Wishing Daisy C, Kaley C, Holly G and Annie F the very best of luck as they compete at the 13–19 Years Queensland Representative School Sport Track and Field State Championships, held at QSAC, Nathan, from 15–18 October 2026.
