Deputy Principal
Neil Dargusch - Year 11
We welcome everyone back for Term 4 and hope students, staff and families enjoyed a refreshing break. With the final term of the school year now underway, there are plenty of opportunities ahead for learning, achievement and celebration as we work towards finishing the year on a positive note.
Term 4 is an important time for students to reflect on their progress, strengthen their understanding and demonstrate their learning through final assessments. Our teachers will continue to work alongside students to provide guidance, encouragement and support as they complete the year’s learning. Families play an important role in this process, and we encourage parents and carers to maintain conversations about learning and contact teachers if any questions or concerns arise.
We wish our Year 12 students every success as they prepare for and undertake their external examinations. This is a significant milestone, representing years of hard work, growth and commitment. We encourage our senior students to stay focused, make the most of the support available to them and approach this final stage with confidence as they prepare for the opportunities that lie beyond school.
House Week returns in Week 3 providing a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our school spirit and celebrate the connections that make our community special. Through a range of activities, students can build friendships, work together and develop a stronger sense of belonging to their House and the wider school.
Activities will be held in the Quad and Sports Hall throughout the week. We encourage all students to get involved, support their House and contribute to the friendly competition as they earn points for their team. House Week is a great chance to connect with others, show enthusiasm and celebrate what it means to be part of our school community.
As we move through Term 4, it is important to recognise the dedication, effort and achievements of our students. Celebration events will be held throughout the term.
Our Senior Excellence Evening, taking place on Wednesday 21 October, will celebrate student success across academic, cultural and leadership pursuits. The evening is an opportunity for our school community to acknowledge the commitment and accomplishments of our senior students and recognise the many ways they contribute to school life.
Students involved in the awards evening are reminded that rehearsals will be held in the JA Hall at the following times on Tuesday 20 October:
Over the recent school break, we took the opportunity to complete some facility improvements across the school. Internal painting was undertaken in classrooms and toilets in B and D Blocks, helping to refresh these spaces and maintain a welcoming environment for our students and staff.
Last term additional areas in the Quad and on the hillside adjacent to B Block were upgraded to provide a pleasant seating environment for learning activities and break times.
These upgrades are part of our ongoing commitment to providing clean, well-maintained spaces that support teaching, learning and student wellbeing.
