Visual Arts Jnr

Our junior artists have been exploring the rich and diverse world of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art. Throughout the term, students have been learning about a range of Indigenous artists, discovering how their stories, culture and connection to Country are expressed through colour, pattern and symbolism.

Inspired by these artists, students have created their own unique artworks using a variety of techniques and materials. One of our favourite projects has been creating colourful Rainbow Serpent artworks using wool to add texture and dimension. Students have also produced vibrant drawings inspired by the work of Jimmy Pike, experimenting with bold colours, patterns and imaginative storytelling.

It has been wonderful to see our young artists develop their creativity while gaining a deeper appreciation of Australia's First Nations cultures and artistic traditions.
