GSPV's Very First Open Day!

Starting from Monday 31st August (Week 7) you will see and hear advertising promoting our school's very first Open Day!

Families in the North-Eastern suburbs of Adelaide interested in primary school options for their child are being invited to register and come along to see what we have to offer.

On the day, they will:

  • Meet Principal Evie Stevens and our school leadership team
  • Enjoy a guided tour of our beautiful school grounds and facilities
  • Chat with our student leaders about life at Good Shepherd
  • Explore learning displays showcasing our students’ work
  • Join our live parent interview panel and ask current parents anything they’d like to know

For the safety of our students and staff, attendance to our Open Day will be by registration only via the form on our website.

Our open day guided tours will not be going into classrooms, ensuring there will be as minimal disruption to classrooms as possible. Instead, our guided tours will be exploring learning displays that will be set up at various points around the school with our student leaders present to chat about the learning on display and what life is like at Good Shepherd.

We will be sharing a social story with students about our Open Day at assembly on the 26th August (Week 6, 2S assembly), helping students to understand what will be happening and what to expect. Students will then work with their teachers to put together some class work over the coming weeks leading up to Open Day that will be used in our learning displays.

Can you help?

I am anticipating this to be a big event and so I would love some parent volunteers to help and be a friendly face around the school. I am seeking a total of 3 volunteers to assist with;

Before the guided tours

  • 1 person - Greeting visitors at the JP gate and directing them to the oval.
  • 2 people - Checking names on the registration list and handing out visitor stickers.

After the guided tours

  • 2 people - Handing out hot drink orders and maintaining the food area in the church courtyard/foyer (keeping things looking nice and clean, putting rubbish in the bin etc)

If you are able to and would like to help, please send me an email at: kim.reddy@gspv.sa.edu.au or text or call me on 0499 339 902

Our welcome message at the beginning of our event will include a notice to visitors that photos and video on personal devices is not permitted, however, recognising that this is a significant event for the school, we have engaged the services of a professional photographer and videographer to capture the moments of our Open Day. They have been instructed to respect the safety and privacy of our students and so their focus will be on our facilities, the guided tours, the presentation with Evie and the Q&A parent session. These photos and video will be shared with our visitors and the wider school community in the days following our event.

We're very excited to showcase our school and hopefully welcome some new families to our community! If you have any questions about our Open Day, please don't hesitate to contact me.
