Stage 3 Poetry in RE

In Religious Education, Stage 3 have been learning about Mary as a Disciple and how she is a model of faith and hope. We have compared Mary to modern day disciples in our worlds, such as our parents, grandparents, sport coaches and teachers.

In this task we were asked to write a poem about Mary.

Hannah Lawler:

Mary walked in silent grace,

With a humble heart and gentle face.

A simple maid from Nazarene,

quiet faith of a humble queen.

An angel came from heaven bright,

And filled the room with holy light.

He told her God's wondrous plan,

To save the fallen soul of man.

In Bethlehem, beneath the star,

wise men came from afar,

She held her baby, pure and bright,

The holy child of Christmas night.

She watched him grow with all the love,

That god had sent from above.

Ayla, Phoebe, Charlotte, Tilly G, Sophie - Mary Poem

Violets are blue,

just like you,

you wore a halo too,

You trusted in God,

they thought you were odd,

you sang to doves,

with all your love

Mary, Mary the virgin one,

you had a boy you called your son,

you pushed through hard,

without leaving your guard,

now women look up to your sacred heart

You’re remembered for Jesus birth,

you live on a place we now called earth,

The stars were bright,

on that night,

your son was crucified,

for wrongful rights

Jesus was tied on the cross,

because of the ruthless boss,

she stayed by his side,

although she had to say goodbye

Mary, Mary the virgin one,

you had a boy you called your son,

you pushed through hard,

without leaving your guard,

now women look up to your sacred heart

Mary the chosen one

helpful,

grateful,

hopeful,

faithful,

and thoughtful

 The End

Shelby Hayden:

Lovely Lady dressed in blue …

Teach me how to pray !

God was just you little lad ,

Tell me what to say !

Did you lift him up sometimes ,

Gently on your knee ?

Did you sing to him like my mum did to me ?

Do you really think he cares

If you tell him things that happened ?

And do the angels wings .

You were a queen of grace ,

You were the idol of your time and race

Though times were tough ,

And nights were rough .

Nights showed hidden tears ,

She showed how to face many fears

And though her heart was pierced with pain ,

She knew her light would heal and regain.
