Confirmation

On Sunday 31st August, some of our Year Six students gathered with their families, teachers, and parish community to celebrate a significant milestone in their faith journey, the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Held at St Helena's of the Holy Cross Parish, the ceremony was a beautiful and reverent occasion, marking the moment when these young people received the gifts of the Holy Spirit and were strengthened in their commitment to live as disciples of Christ.
In preparation for this sacrament, the students engaged in weeks of learning, prayer, and reflection. Through classroom discussions, retreats, and family conversations, they explored the meaning of Confirmation, the symbols of the Holy Spirit, and the responsibilities that come with being a fully initiated member of the Church.
Each child chose a Confirmation saint, someone whose life inspires them to live with courage, compassion, and faith. These saints were proudly shared during the ceremony with some students also explaining why they had chosen that particular saint too.
On Monday 1 September, the Year Six children gathered together to celebrate their peers step in their church journey.
Thank you to Mrs Joanna Bukara and Miss Kaylene Bederson for all their support in preparing the students to receive this Sacrament. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and strengthen our newly confirmed students as they grow in faith, hope, and love.
