Building and Grounds News

We have lots of project in the works at the moment with the fake grass being installed in the Sensory Garden space on Monday and some play equipment coming soon after.

We have also got some ideas for some play equipment up on the hill outside the Hub area.  This will increase our play areas for the students. We have asked some students for some ideas and they have A LOT!  Stay tuned.

The Ramp revamp should be completed in the Christmas break and will allow us to further develop the small play area in front of the gallery space.

The new packing container has arrived and has been placed on the oval beside the fenced area. This exciting space will be our "Hands on Learning" space and will be a place to watch out for early next year. Mr Holden has heaps of exciting things planned.

The Buildings and Grounds team ensure that the implmentation of a mandated OHS Management System (OHSMS), which includes regular workplace inspections to identify hazards, managing risks, and having a current Emergency Management Plan (EMP).

Our playground area was audited this month and the report was overall in the positive. We have a few things that could be changed in keeping with current OHS standards but nothing was deemed urgent.  We take safety of our students at school extremely seriously and this report was eagerly recieved.

The aborists were also onsite to audit our remaining trees.  This report was also favorable with just the normal pruning to occur on most of our trees.

If you notice anything around the school that you think may be an OHS risk or would like to report anything, please email Mrs Halket and let her know.

The Buildings and Grounds Team are aware of the flooding issues that keep occurring at the bottom of the ramp area outside the Gallery space. We are looking into this area and the problems that this may cause (Wet children!).  If anyone has any ideas about how we can manage this space, please let Mrs Halket know.
