Term 1 Inquiry

This term, our Inquiry focus is Healthy Me, Safe Me: Looking After Our Bodies, Feelings & Online Selves. Through this learning, students will explore what it means to look after themselves and others at school, at home and online. The unit brings together Health and Physical Education, Digital Technologies (eSafety) and key General Capabilities.

Across the year levels, students will be learning about safe and unsafe situations, identifying trusted adults and practising kind and respectful online behaviour. They will also explore ways to build positive relationships, manage emotions and make healthy choices that support their wellbeing, including learning about healthy bodies, food and sleep. This learning ties in seamlessly with our work in The Resilience Project, where students continue to build gratitude, empathy, mindfulness and emotional literacy.

Students will be developing their understanding of how to stay safe online by identifying potential risks, thinking about their digital reputation and learning how to create a responsible and respectful online presence. We will also be encouraging students to recognise who they can go to for help and support, both at school and beyond.

Our goal is to help students feel confident, safe and supported as they grow, build relationships and navigate both their real and digital worlds.

Also, look out for Curriculum Information specific to your child’s year level that will be shared with families this week.
