Surf Carnival
Last Thursday, 19 February, our Grade 5 students participated in an exciting and educational Surf Carnival conducted by qualified instructors from Lifesaving Victoria.
Throughout the day, students were actively involved in developing their understanding of open water safety, first aid, and surf awareness. They learnt how to identify changing water conditions, practised important safety strategies, and built their confidence in open water swimming skills.
The program culminated in a fun and engaging surf carnival, where students applied their newly developed surf lifesaving skills in a series of team-based activities. It was wonderful to see students demonstrating resilience, teamwork, and responsibility while supporting one another in the water and on the sand.
We are incredibly proud of the way our Grade 5 cohort represented the school and embraced this valuable learning experience.
Thank you to the staff, parent volunteer, and Lifesaving Victoria instructors for making the day such a success.
Regards,
