Season Wrap-Up

The Griffins Basketball season has officially concluded, marking a fantastic year of commitment, development, and teamwork.

Across all teams, players demonstrated strong skill development, resilience in competition, and a positive, team-oriented approach.

We sincerely thank our coaches, team managers, players, and supporters for their dedication and contribution throughout the season.

Basketball Wind-Up

On Sunday 29 April, our basketball community came together to celebrate the end of a fantastic season and recognise the many talented players who received awards across Raiders, ABA, and team categories. It was a fun-filled afternoon and a great opportunity to celebrate alongside teammates, friends, and families.

On behalf of the Griffins community, we would like to extend a special thank you to our dedicated committee for their hard work in making the season such a success.

Basketball Finals

Congratulations to our five teams who competed in finals games over the weekend — a fantastic achievement for the Griffins community.

A special mention to our Griffins Fever U12 Division 1 team on their outstanding grand final win. Well done to all players and coaches involved!

Griffins Winter Sports

Registrations have been sent to all players who nominated, with a few spots still available across teams. If you are interested in playing this season, please contact the Registrar at soccer.registrar@griffins.org.au.

Thank you to Matthew Kiddle for continuing as Soccer Chair this year, Julianne Dwyer-Adams for remaining in the Secretary role until a replacement is found, and to our new Registrar, Claudia Maw, who has done an exceptional job stepping into this busy role. We also extend our thanks to the many soccer volunteers who contribute their time and effort to make the season possible.

Griffins Volleyball

We are delighted to announce that Evelyn Collin has taken on the role of Chair of Volleyball, with Julianne Dwyer-Adams appointed as Volleyball Secretary for the 2026 season. Alongside Paul Donaldson, they have been busy preparing for an exciting season ahead.

Registration and team details have been sent out. Please ensure you register as soon as possible to assist with final planning.

Griffins Hockey

Thank you to everyone who nominated for the upcoming season. We’re excited to share that 2026 will be our biggest season yet, with 14 Griffins teams nominated!

A special thank you to Gemma Pyle and Alex Fergie for stepping up as Hockey Chairs this year, along with Georgina Lester as Secretary and Darryl Hancock as Registrar.

Our committee has been working hard behind the scenes to prepare for the season ahead. Registration emails have been sent. Please ensure you register as soon as possible to allow us to finalise teams.

Be sure to save the date for the Griffins Season Opener! It’ll be a great afternoon to meet your coaches and enjoy a hit of hockey as we get ready for the season ahead. We hope to see you there!

Griffins Netball

A big thank you to our wonderful netball committee, led by Brooke Pearson, for organising this season. Our netball registrations are finalised, and our players are eagerly awaiting the start of the season. Miriam Burnie will again serve as Secretary, and Jo Wegner is the Registrar for the season, supported by our many dedicated netball volunteers.

Griffins Merchandise and Uniforms

Players can order the Griffins training gear and supporter merchandise from the Griffins site Shop - Great Southern Griffins. A range of hoodies, tops, pants and accessories are available to buy. There are limited stocks of hoodies, but more will be added at the end of the month.
