The Sacrament of First Eucharist
Thank you to the staff and the wonderful Ange Vergona for a prayerful, enlightening Family Information Night last night. It was so wonderful to see our candidates being so fully supported by their families as they prepare to receive this important sacrament. The entire St Andrew's community and parish will be welcoming our candidates at the Eucharist Commitment masses on Saturday 2nd May at 6pm and on Sunday 3rd May at 11am. Please join us to support them on this important milestone towards receiving their sacrament.
If your child is preparing to celebrate a sacrament this year, a resource you may like to make use of is 'Journeying Together'. Journeying Together covers the sacraments most commonly celebrated with primary-school-aged children - Reconciliation (Penance), Eucharist, and Confirmation. This resource will complement your child’s sacrament preparation at their Catholic primary school or in a parish catechetical setting.
Each sacrament module includes four sessions. Each session includes an invitation to explore and integrate the family’s lived experience with concepts from Scripture, the Church and the sacraments, along with opportunities to pray together.
We hope that by opening this opportunity, many will encounter Jesus and engage with their faith in a fresh and meaningful way.
