Medieval exhibition
Our Year 8 students had a fantastic time attending the opening of the 2026 Positively Medieval exhibition. The exhibition is now open to the public and can be found in the Arts Building near the UNE Museum of Antiquities.
A big thank you to all the parents who joined us to celebrate the students' achievements. Your support means so much!
Don't miss out – come and explore this amazing exhibition!
Students in VET Construction Year 11 have been hard at work completing and finishing their Timber Stools for course competency. Amazing effort from everyone involved! Next up, the students will be taking on their new project: a pair of Saw Horses. Keep up the great work!
Students from Term 1 have been focusing on gaining their White Card – General Induction Training from WorkCover NSW. This qualification allows them to safely enter a work site for future employment opportunities, VET Construction Work Placement, or Work Experience. Congratulations to all students who attended and have now earned their White Cards!
Looking ahead, Term 2 White Card Training is scheduled for 12th May, and the class group is already full. Great enthusiasm from our students!
PCYC Job Ready Program
ASC students attended the PCYC Job Ready Program. Throughout the program, students developed valuable employability skills while also achieving their First Aid and White Card qualifications.
All students represented the school exceptionally well, showing great teamwork, effort, and professionalism throughout the week. Congratulations to everyone who attended — you should all be proud of your achievements and the important step you have taken to
wards becoming job-ready. Well done!
Cross Country
130 students represented Armidale Secondary College at the annual Cross Country held at UNE, tackling the challenging 4km course with determination and enthusiasm.
We were incredibly proud of the commitment, attitude, athleticism and sportsmanship shown by all students throughout the day. Every runner gave their best effort, supported one another, and represented the school with pride.
A huge congratulations to all students who participated, and an extra special congratulations to those students who qualified for the NW Cross Country Championships to be held at Coolah on 11 June. We wish you the very best of luck and know you will continue to represent Armidale Secondary College with pride!

Year 9 EAL/D English NERAM Visit
Our Year 9 EAL/D English students recently visited New England Regional Art Museum to explore the Experimenta Emergence exhibition. The exhibition challenged students to think about changing societies, environmental futures, and imagined worlds through interactive and thought-provoking artworks.
As part of their study of speculative fiction, dystopian and utopian worlds, students considered how artists use creativity to question the future and explore possibilities for humanity and the environment. The excursion provided an engaging opportunity for students to connect the themes studied in English with contemporary art and real-world issues.
Youth Week PCYC Netball Competition x Zooper Doopers 2026
To celebrate Youth Week, ASC and Armidale PCYC teamed up to host an exciting mixed netball competition in The Den! With 12 teams battling it out, it was a fun-filled and intense afternoon of sport and community spirit.
A huge thank you to the amazing Armidale PCYC crew — Sam, Brad, Jeff, and Penny — along with Bec Tarrant, Brooke Attard, and Hayley Waite for umpiring the games and making the event run smoothly. Thank you to all the students who participated and showed such great enthusiasm and teamwork. You made the day truly memorable!
We also want to give a shoutout to Armidale PCYC for visiting ASC on March 30th and handing out zooper doopers to our students as part of Youth Week celebrations — a sweet treat enjoyed by all!
Here’s to empowering our youth and celebrating their energy and talents!
Term 2 Rec Walking
Our Rec Walking sport group has been making the most of the beautiful autumn weather, heading out each week to explore new streets, walking tracks, and local parks. Along the way, students have enjoyed the changing colours of the leaves and the fresh air, while building their fitness. It has been a great opportunity to connect with our surroundings, stay active, socialise with others, and appreciate the seasonal changes in our community.
