Tia-Nara Slater-Saunders
We are incredibly proud to announce that Tia-Nara Slater-Saunders, one of our talented students and a proud Northern Tiger, recently attended the NSW Future Blues Camp at Olympic Park!
Tia earned this fantastic opportunity through her outstanding performance in the Grand Final of the 2026 Westpac Regional Lisa Fiaola Cup (Under 17s) held in Port Macquarie last month. Playing for the Northern Tigers, Tia helped her team secure their maiden premiership with a thrilling 26-18 victory over the Riverina Bulls.
The camp took place at the NSWRL Centre of Excellence on April 18-19 as part of the second Westpac NSW Emerging Regional Girls Academy. Here, Tia trained alongside some of the best young players in the state and gained invaluable experience learning from top-level coaches.
Please join us in congratulating Tia-Nara for this incredible achievement and wish her all the best as she continues her rugby league journey!
Nahri and Tia at NSWCHSSA Rugby League Championships.
Good luck to Nahri and Tia-Nara Slater-Saunders who are competing this week in the 2026 NSWCHSSA 18 Years Girls Rugby League Championships in St Marys!
Nahri has been selected in the Greater Western team, while Tia-Nara has earned selection in the Presidents team — an outstanding achievement for both girls.
The championships bring together some of the best schoolgirl rugby league players from across NSW, with the girls competing against teams from all over the state… and even facing off against each other during the week!
We wish both Nahri and Tia-Nara the very best for the carnival. Your hard work, dedication and commitment to the game have paid off and we are all incredibly proud of you both.
Good luck girls — play hard and enjoy every moment!
Congratulations to Tarell Byrne on being selected for the NNSWF Indigenous Squad!
We’re proud to announce that Tarell will be competing in the 2026 Community State Championships this July. Best of luck – we’re all cheering for you!
Last week, the Lyāmbay dance group had the privilege of performing for Stolen Generations Survivors and descendants at The Stolen Generations Council NSW/ACT Healing Campfire. The dancers performed their inspiring dance, "United," celebrating strength and community.
The Healing Campfires are a powerful time of connection, reflection and community. They provide a culturally safe space to come together, share stories, strengthen identity and walk the healing journey alongside each other.
What an experience for our Lyāmbay dancers – thank you to Rowena and June for the opportunity to be part of such an important and meaningful event.
