Tardigrades! The GIHS Year 11 Biology class found Tardigrades also known as Water Bears, using the Moss infusion method. They soaked fresh moss in water for 2 hours and then squeezed the moss and looked at the moss juice under the microscope using 4x and 10x objective lenses. They were so excited to find these little critters and record their findings. They also got to observe the range of microorganisms in trough water and used a guide to identify what they saw.
Next time you see a fresh bit of moss there is likely a couple of hundred Tardigrades on it!
