Well we knew winter was coming but it didn't have to show itself so early! I am sure that we still have a few autumnal days left throughout the month of May. I am praying to Mary that this is so!
MAP ~ Mathematics Acceleration Program
Our MAP program continued in earnest this week with the next of our PD days for teachers in the Year 2 to Year 4 classes taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday. It's always great to spend time with colleagues away from school and learn more about our profession and the craft of teaching. This latest professional development centred around addition and subtraction and the progression of these concepts from Foundation to Year 4. Thanks again to our dedicated teachers Liz (Year 2) and Abby, Tess and Lauren (Year 4) for their willingness to be part of the program and for their commitment to ongoing learning. Our students will reap the benefits of this tremendous program.

Initial Lit F-2 Parent Information Night

A really successful night was had last Wednesday night when parents from Foundation to Year 2 came to learn more about our Reading program in the junior years, known as Initial Lit. A massive shout out to the parents who braved the cold, rain and icy winds to attend a most informative night. Thanks also to Di, our Literacy Leader, for bringing the troops together and to Antoniette, Marty, Terri, Maddy, Geraldine and Marie for being part of a great night. Thanks everyone!
