Mothers' Day

Last week we celebrated our wonderful mothers in our classrooms . We hope you had the most wonderful day on Sunday

Prayer

We give thanks for the gift of motherhood in all the ways it is lived, shared, hoped for, remembered, and carried in the heart.

We give thanks for mothers and all women who nurture others with compassion, wisdom, courage, and love.Bless them with strength for each day, patience in moments of challenge, wisdom in times of uncertainty, and joy in the love they give so generously.

May the Holy Spirit guide and sustain them as they care for their families, communities, and all those entrusted to them.

We pray for mothers who are struggling or carrying burdens unseen by others. May they be surrounded by peace and reminded that their love and sacrifices are deeply valued.

We give thanks for women who mother through kindness, guidance, friendship, and service — those who care for colleagues, students, neighbours, relatives, and anyone in need of encouragement or belonging. May they know the quiet power of their compassion.

Help us, as a school community, to honour and support all mothers and mother figures with gratitude. May we recognise the sacred dignity in every act of care, every sacrifice made in love, and every hand extended in compassion.

AMEN

Parish News

This coming weekend, we have the Rite of Commitment for our First Eucharist children at all masses.  Please note that Sunday 5pm mass this weekend, will be held in the Church NOT the Chapel.

We are looking for support for the Winter Shelter.  If you are able to cook something for the Shelter, it would be appreciated.  We need soups, main meals, hot vegetable dishes, salads, desserts or cakes for Friday nights from 5th June till 28th August.  More information is available in the Parish Newsletter which is available through the Parish Website.

The Ladies Friendship Group together with the school community, are holding The Biggest Morning Tea on Friday 29th May in the Community Centre from 9am till 12 noon.  If you would like to make a cake or slice for the cake stall, there are paper plates available in the Church or Parish House with full instructions.  Everyone is welcome to attend and your support is greatly appreciated.

The Parishes of Holy Spirit, St Anne and St Gerard are now taking steps towards greater collaboration through shared structures.  We remain committed to walking this journey prayerfully, respectfully and with hope, seeking guidance of the Holy Spirit as we work more closely together.  To establish a joint Parish Pastoral Council, expressions of interest are open to becoming new members. Anyone in our community can become a member.  Do you have ideas to develop, improve, change, contribute to the Parish.  Is there someone you would like to nominate?   Nomination forms are available in the Church foyer or the Parish House.  Forms need to be returned by 1st June.

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy this beautiful weather.  Blessings from the Parish House.
