Secondary School News

WYNSPEAK
Three of our high school students — Liam Mitchell, Ava Manuell and Eden Carruthers — proudly represented Altona College at the Altona Theatre in WYNSPEAK. WYNSPEAK is a youth public speaking competition for secondary school students across Melbourne’s western suburbs.
All students presented a prepared speech before taking part in a short-notice speech challenge, where they were given a mystery topic and just four minutes to prepare before heading on stage.
Liam, Ava and Eden all delivered outstanding speeches, with Eden achieving exceptional success by winning the short-notice section of the evening.
Congratulations to Eden, Ava and Liam on their wonderful speeches, and a huge thank you to Mr Daniel Lah for supporting and coaching our three competitors. Well done!
The year 9 and year 11 Media students spent a day at ACMI doing the ‘Film It!’ workshop. Students participated in a hands-on project that included storyboarding, filming and editing their own short films.
Year 7 Camp
Thursday and Friday last week the Year 7's went to Lake Dewar Discovery Camp. They participated in some awesome activities such as Flying Fox, Canoeing, Kayaking, Adventure Tunnel and Archery! The students reconnected with nature, challenged themselves, and created long lasting memories.
