Dear Parents & Carers,
I take this opportunity to remind our community about Friendology. Perhaps you’ve already heard terms such as ‘Friendship Fire’ or ‘Mean on Purpose’ being mentioned by your children at home?
URSTRONG’s Friendology is a friendship curriculum that all students have learned about through 8 core lessons taught in Term One.
Friendology teaches children the simple language of navigating friendships and learning tools and strategies for when friendship disputes do arise. This language and the messages learned, are revisited when navigating friendship disputes in the yard and classrooms.
Families are invited to take advantage of a FREE Parent Membership to access hundreds of resources, including an 8 session video series.
This allows parents & carers to learn the same language & strategies being taught in our classrooms through the Friendology curriculum. Families will then be able to reinforce the important messages of empowerment, self-compassion & kindness at home.
Two worthy resources provided by URSTRONG are available here for you to watch or listen to:
Language of Friendship: In this video, Dana Kerford (Friendship Expert & Founder of URSTRONG) will introduce you to URSTRONG’s simple framework for guiding children towards healthy friendships. Sit back and relax while Dana walks you through URSTRONG’s unique, kid-friendly language to teach friendship skills and conflict resolution!
What is a Friendship Fire?: In this podcast interview, learn all about why friendship skills are important and how we’re supporting kids through URSTRONG’s Friendology curriculum to put out their Friendship Fires®.
Please also read the below flyer providing a glossary and an overview of Friendology.
