Thursday 14th May saw selected students from Years 4–6 represent Kingswood Primary School at the District Cross Country Carnival held at Karkarook Park. Despite not fielding a full team due to illness, late withdrawals and our Year 5 students returning from camp the afternoon before the event, Kingswood achieved an impressive 6th place overall.
Congratulations to all students who represented our school with determination, resilience and excellent sportsmanship throughout the day.
A special mention goes to Olivia H, who qualified to represent the district at the Division Cross Country Championships. Olivia competed at the Division Championships on Wednesday 27th May, a fantastic achievement and a reflection of her hard work and dedication. We are incredibly proud of her efforts.
On Friday 15th May, our Year 6 students travelled to St Mark’s Primary School for Winter Inter-School Sport. It was a highly successful day for Kingswood, with victories in:
Mixed Netball
Girls Netball
Mixed Soccer
Girls Soccer
Mixed T-Ball
Girls T-Ball
The day also marked the first time our new Kingswood netball dresses were worn in inter-school competition. A huge thank you to our Parent Association for their generous donation towards the purchase of these dresses last year. Our students looked fantastic representing Kingswood.
Looking ahead, students in Prep to Year 4 will begin their two-week swimming program on Monday 1st June. Swimming lessons provide a wonderful opportunity for students to develop their confidence, water safety knowledge and swimming skills.
I would like to sincerely thank all staff and parent helpers who have volunteered their time to support the program. The success of opportunities such as swimming lessons relies heavily on the support of our school community and we are incredibly grateful for your assistance.
Student Achievement
Johnson P recently has passed a Judo practical and knowledge test called a grading at the Taketani Judo Academy.
This is no easy task and requires a great deal of practice. The grade is awarded by the presentation of a coloured Judo belt.
Junior Judo belts are in varying colours signifying age and expertise. Johnson has been awarded a Junior Orange belt. Well done Johnson P!
