National Simultaneous Storytime

National Simultaneous Storytime 2026

Every year, May 27th marks National Simultaneous Storytime, when people across Australia can choose to read a selected picture book at the same time  and join a live online reading.

This year, the chosen book was “Luna Roo – The Kangaroo Baller”, written by Adam Jackson and illustrated by Adrian Lloyd. 

FG and 1L loved watching the live reading and drawing tutorial and then doing some cut-and-paste activities:

1L said: “We loved the story Luna Roo, it was an excellent story and we liked watching how he made the illustrations and watching him draw them after the story!”.
